Winter Park Use
Ice Skating/Hockey
The City of Fridley maintains five general skating rinks and six hockey rinks in Fridley! General rinks are located at Briardale, Hackmann, Logan, Sylvan Hills and Plymouth Square parks. Hockey rinks can be found at Commons (2), Flanery, Madsen, and Ruth Circle Parks and Hayes Elementary.
Please note: We need about 10 consecutive days of freezing temps to create safe and usable ice. Warm weather, freezing rain, and even snow can slow the process down, but we do our best to get the rinks ready as soon as possible.
Cold Weather Guidelines
As a guideline for outdoor winter activities, we suggest cancelling your activities if the temperature is below -10 degrees Fahrenheit or there is a wind chill of -25 degrees Fahrenheit. The warming house will be closed if these cold weather conditions exist. Please call our weather hotline for current information 763-572-3578.
Commons Warming House/Free Use of Skates
The warming house is now closed for the 2022-2023 winter season.

Groomed Winter Trails
Enjoy multi-use trails in our parks! The City of Fridley grooms trails in Moore Lake Park, Commons Park, Meadowlands Park, Riverview Heights Park, Sylvan Park and Flanery Park. Six-foot trails are groomed including a three-foot section for cross country skiing and a three-foot section for multi-use. Multi-use trails can be used for a variety of activities including walking, fat tire biking, snowshoeing, etc. Please note: We do our best to groom the trails weekly depending on snow depths and conditions.
