Preschool Activities!
The fallowing classes will be held in the gymnasium at Hayes Elementary School. Please enter using Door #2 located on the West side of the building. Participants must be the minimum advertised age by the start of the program. Min/max: 8/12

Elementary After-School Programs
The fallowing programs are offered after school at Hayes Elementary School from 3:45-5:15 p.m. to youth in grades K-4 (unless noted). Recreation leaders will meet participants in the Hayes cafeteria at dismissal time. Stevenson students will meet our Recreation leader at the bus loading area and will be transported to Hayes. Parent pick-up is in the Hayes cafeteria at 5:15 p.m.

ZONE Music & Hoops
The City of Fridley Zone Teen program will offer Music & Hoops beginning Friday, November 1 and meet every Monday and Friday through February 3rd. Basketball and music will be played in the Hayes Elementary Gym. Have a song request? Let us know and we will put your song choices on while you play! It is a great way to socialize with friends! Snack will be provided. Drop-in Admission is $1 per session.
Transportation will be provided to Hayes starting Monday 12/9. Meet at the Commons Park Warming House behind Fridley Middle School. Foosball, card games, and video games will be offered from 3:15-3:50. Then, we will head to Hayes Elementary in the city recreation van for Basketball, music, and hoops!
Winter Break Field Trips!

12/23- MN Wild Water Park: We'll enjoy the amazing four-story water slides, Prospector's Pan Tube slide, and the pizza lunch that is included with this trip.
12/27- Green Acres Snow Tubing: Join us for a day of excitement and adventure as we have a BLAST snow tubing at the Green Hills Recreation Area.
12/30- Pump It Up & Sidekick Theater: We’re off to Pump It Up Inflatable Party Zone! After jumping we are going to the Sidekick Theater to experience Cinderella The Musical.
1/2- Chuck-E-Cheese & The Works Museum: Get ready for day filled with fun, games, and pizza at Chuck-E-Cheese in Edina. Then we’re off to experience hands on engineering at The Works Museum.
1/3- Zero Gravity & Action Packed Games: We’ll start the day in the Hayes Gym for high-paced indoor games. Then we’ll head to Zero Gravity Trampoline Park where we will experience three dimensional playing fields with floor and walls made of trampolines.
Extended Hours for Working Parents 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
For all trips, we offer an Extended Hours Program, which allows you to drop your child off as early as 7:30 a.m. and pick them up as late as 5:30 p.m. You may register for this as an "extra" when signing up for the field trip online. The fee is $9 per day. Pre-registration is required.
Safety Camp 2019: June 19
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Join Fridley Police in partnership with Fridley Fire, Fridley Recreation and Allina Medical, for a day filled with valuable safety skills and tons of fun.
$25 includes leadership, supplies, bike helmet, T-shirt, tote bag, hat, snacks and lunch, plus priceless safety lessons!

It's time to play! Don't miss this opportunity to have a great summer break! Kids will have a blast with their friends and our awesome energetic staff as they enjoy some fun in the sun!
We promote developing friendships, good sportsmanship, coordination, motivation and creativity. Each week a new theme will be presented with games, stories, crafts and imagination to provide a well-rounded experience for your child.
All playground participants will meet their leaders at the Hayes warming house (near the Fridley History Center).
*Session I: If your child is in summer school at Stevenson, they can ride the bus to Hayes Elementary to participate in this program. Our staff will meet them at the bus drop off location.
Extended Hours
If you are unable to pick up your child at 3:30 p.m., you can register for the Extended Hours program. Recreation staff will supervise children in Hayes School.Parents/guardians can pick up their child anytime between 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., enter Hayes using door #10A.
Playgrounds - Grades K-4
Our Playground Program promotes friendships, good sportsmanship, coordination, motivation, creativity and more. Each themed week includes games, stories, crafts and imagination.

City of Fridley does not coordinate youth sports leagues. Below is contact information for The Fridley Youth Sports Association -- a volunteer group of residents who donate their time to offer youth sports in Fridley. Volunteers include League Directors, coaches, assistant coaches and many people behind the scenes. If you are interested in donating your time to a particular sport, or would like further information, please contact the appropriate League Director listed below:
