Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for engineering, design and maintenance of City streets, sidewalks, parks, water, sanitary and storm water utility systems, City Hall and City Garage, and maintenance of equipment. Technical support in the form of surveys, drafting, research and utility location is provided by Engineering for the development of improvements plans, construction and safety programs for the City. The divisions established within the department are as follows:

BEFORE you begin any sewer or water line repairs, make changes to your foundation or additions to your home or business, build fences, plant trees, pour a patio or driveway, or plan any excavations requiring deep holes or trenches on your property. The Engineering Division designs and oversees construction of improvement projects, performs inspections on utility repairs/stormwater drainage, coordinates work of private utilities, maintains records of plats/construction plans, assists owners with water, sewer, and storm drainage issues, and permits all work in public lands/right-of-ways.
