The City of Fridley is committed to breaking down barriers for residents and to be a fair, inclusive and equitable community in its practices, programs and services.
The Engineering division has prepared a American Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition plan to guide its efforts to ensure pedestrian facilities located within the city's public right-of-way meet the accessibility of all residents.
As required by Title II of the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and 28 CFR 35.105, the City of Fridley has conducted a self-evaluation of its facilities throughout the city and has developed a transition plan detailing how the organization will ensure that all of its facilities are accessible to all individuals.
The plan will be used to maintain, program and construct accessible pedestrian facilities in the right-of-way. It provides an inventory of pedestrian ramps that fall under city jurisdiction for ownership and maintenance.
The ADA Transition Plan was adopted by Fridley City Council at the February 11, 2019 council meeting. The full plan is already available on our website as a readable and searchable PDF. You can also request a paper copy of the plan by calling 763-238-8086, emailing Brandon.Brodhag@FridleyMN.gov or stopping in to City Hall.
The City of Fridley has identified an ADA Title II Coordinator to oversee the Public Works department policies and procedures:
